On this website, you will find a full and comprehensive overview of this short but incredibly complex branch line. Originally built to thwart plans by a rival railway company to build a railway into Brighton terminating at Kemptown, the line had a 14 arch viaduct and a 3/4mile long tunnel crammed into a route a little over
2 miles in length!
